Description

UL 60730-2-14 is an adoption of the first and second amendments of the first edition of IEC 60730-2-14. The revisions dated February 27, 2013 were issued to reflect the latest ANSI approval date as an American National Standard and to include the following revisions that were proposed March 2, 2012:

1. Added four revisions to Clause 1.1.1DV to clarify the terminology, add references to UL standards and to clarify what the standard covers.

2. Revised Clause 1.2DV.1 so the maximum voltage and current values correlate with the requirements in the part 1 standard.

3. Added Clause 11.13.101DV to address the reliability of protective circuits/components performing safety critical functions.

4. Added Clause 21.101DV to to cover electric actuators employing polymeric parts that are intended to be installed in air-handling spaces where special flammability requirements are specified in accordance with article 300.22 of the NEC.

5. Added Clause 27.3DV to include requirements for electro-magnetic components that are part of the electric actuator construction.

6. D.2DV was added to delete the IEC requirements covering polymeric materials used for enclosures for portable, stationary and fixed controls since these requirements are covered in UL 746C which is referenced in the part 1 standard.

7. Added Clause H.26.1DV adds clarity to clause H.26.1 by modifying the requirement to also include electric actuators employing inherent protective circuitry as protective controls.

8. Added three national differences to Annex H to provide clarity in the compliance criteria for those constructions where the safety of the product is dependent on inherent protective measures.

9. Added a marking requirement to Annex DVC covering electric actuators intended for use in air handling spaces has been added to reflect current practice.
